On the way home, Jan and I stopped in Grants Pass, Oregon, for a night. It’s a cute little town with fun shops and delightful people. Since it was about 100 degrees, taking a rafting trip on the river was the perfect thing to do. We could stay wet.
Our guide, Mason, was a delight. He made the trip special for the four ladies who were on it. (The company is Arrowhead River Adventures, if you are interested in doing this.)

Most of the places that we stayed on the trip were Air B&B’s or VRBO’s. That was really helpful, because they have kitchens. Having our own food was both time and cost effective – and allowed us to pack picnics for our many beautiful days in out of doors. The place we had in Grants Pass was decorated appropriately. Even the cuboards had little animal handles.
