Jedediah Smith State Park

We spent our final day in the Redwoods at the northern end of the parks in Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park.

I don’t think I could ever tire of walking through a Redwood forest. We were always amazed at the character of the old trees – many so unique and gnarled.

The play of the light shinig through the trees and the fresh feel of the air – so amazing.

Families had a wonderful time climbing on the fallen giants.

We learned an interesting fact about the redwood forests here. The coastal redwood forests store more carbon per square mile that any other forest on earth, because they are so dense and tall. They are very important to the health of our planet.

We had lunch by a sparkling stream in the park.
